Website Content Audit
Make every word count: Website content audits that drive results
Content is the cornerstone of every successful website. But ensuring that it not only serves your audience but also aligns with SEO best practices can be challenging. That’s where I come in. My expertise in SEO and content strategy ensures that your content truly shines and reaches maximum potential.
What is a Website Content Audit?
Is your website saying the right things to the right people?
A website content audit takes a fresh look at all the words, structure, and messaging across your site – so you can stop guessing what’s working and start communicating confidently and with purpose.
A website content audit is a review of the written content on your website. I assess how well your words:
- Communicate your value
- Speak to your ideal audience
- Align to your goals (sales, enquiries, brand awareness)
- Match your tone of voice and brand personality
- Guide your visitors toward action (like getting in touch or completing a purchase)
It’s not about nitpicking grammar – it’s about making your content work harder for your business.
Is this for you?
A website content audit is ideal for you if:
- You wrote your website yourself and want a professional review
- Your site has grown over time and feels disjointed or inconsistent
- You’ve changed your services, brand, or audience, but haven’t updated your copy
- You’re not sure if your content is clear, persuasive, or user-friendly
- Your website isn’t converting visitors into enquiries or sales
You don’t need to be a copywriter or marketer to benefit – I’ll explain everything in plain language and give you a clear plan to take forward.
What Does a Website Content Audit Include?
I meticulously review your website’s existing content to identify its strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
My website content audit includes:
- Full review of your key website pages (usually homepage, about, service/product, and contact)
- Assessment of tone, clarity, structure, consistency, and engagement
- Notes on missing content, awkward messaging, or unclear copy
- Suggestions for improving layout, headings, and calls-to-action
- Light SEO review (e.g., missed keyword opportunities, readability)
- A clear, prioritised action plan so you know what to update and why
Following the audit, we’ll have a follow-up call (usually 1 hour) to discuss the findings and steps needed for improvement.

What’s the Difference Between a Website Content Audit and a SEO Audit?
An SEO audit concentrates on how a site performs technically and how Google (and other search engines) sees it whereas a website content audit focuses on how humans experience your content.
Many businesses can benefit from both audits together, fixing the technical side and the messaging side for a strong, better-performing website.
If you’re interested in combining the two audits, get in touch for a custom price.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take?
The full audit usually takes 5-7 working days after you’ve booked and shared any access or priorities. You’ll receive your report by email, followed by an optional walkthrough call via Zoom.
Will you help me re-write my content afterwards?
That’s not included in the audit, but yes – if you’d like help turning the recommendations in refreshed, conversion-focused copy, I can quote separately for copywriting support or include it in a retainer.
Does this include SEO?
Whilst this isn’t a full SEO audit, I do include light SEO feedback – like missed keyword opportunities, weak headings, and content that could be more search-friendly. If you’d like a deeper dive into your site’s technical SEO and rankings, you can book my full SEO Audit separately – or bundle both for better value.
